About Jennifer

By discussing goals and expectations of care, Jennifer provides an individualised approach for every client through a range of hands-on techniques, advice and exercises. She has a particular interest in helping others understand the factors that affect their pain and daily functioning, and also in women’s health.

With a life-long passion for sport, and with her own experience ranging from competitive running, to strength training, to underwater hockey, Jennifer can provide insight and tips to all abilities.

Having grown up on a farm in the Orkney Islands, she moved to Glasgow aged 15 to focus on her running career at the Glasgow School of Sport. After deciding to pursue a career in chiropractic, her studies took her to Bournemouth, and she graduated from AECC University College before going into private practice in London. Jennifer is now back home in Orkney and treating chiropractic patients for problems including back pain, neck problems, sciatica, jaw problems, headaches arising from the neck, sporting injuries, joint issues, and posture issues.

Having an additional qualification in Sports Massage Therapy, Jennifer has a depth of background knowledge in resolving issues relating to muscular imbalances, which combines very well with her approach as a chiropractor.

What to expect

Your first appointment will allow extra time for diagnosis. You will have an in-depth discussion with Jennifer about any issues you are having, your medical history and your overall health. You will be assessed physically, before deciding on, and beginning a personalised treatment plan.

Jennifer will advise on how many follow-up appointments are necessary. What the problem is, how long it’s been troubling you, and how severe it is will help determine the treatment needed. She will take time to advise you on what you can do at home to help improve the issue.
